Manor Rock Farm is an agricultural practice in Taghkanic, New York. The project began in 2021 with seven ducks, two Dachshunds, and a small kitchen garden. Seeds were sourced from organic and biodynamic growers and soon the small garden turned into an acre of herbs, fruits, and vegetables with high tunnels and greenhouses. Fallow forest developed into twenty acres of silvopasture for grazing livestock, where Mangalitsa pigs now rotate through the woods every thirty hours, while Naked Neck chickens run behind Kunekune pigs, creating new pasture on their daily meadow moves.
Every decision is led by the intention to improve not only our farm’s physical output, but also the longevity of the land and the community that we are a part of. We operate at a human scale, cultivating healthier soil without the use of synthetic inputs, growing on a lunar cycle, presenting nutrient dense produce.
Restaurant Manor Rock, established in 2024, is an opportunity to share farm products that were nurtured and cultivated with human touch. It is the final step of curation for the work that starts months, sometimes years, prior. Set in a relaxed yet refined dining environment, the ingredients speak louder than any service descriptor could.
